McDonald's Wiki

ECrew Development Program, also known as Mcdonalds DS game or McDonald's Training Game is a rare game developed for the usage of quickly training McDonalds employees in Japan. Due to the fact that very few had heard of or owned the game, it was considered a piece of lost media for nearly a decade.

The game was released in 2010 across several McDonalds locations throughout Japan, and was not sold at retail. It trained new employees through the usage of quizzes and simulations to teach employees how to operate the restauraunt. The number of total copies released is not currently known, though McDonalds Japan intended for the game to be used in all 3700 Japanese McDonalds locations, giving two Nintendo DS consoles to each store. The game had a budget of 200,000,000 Yen (an estimated 1.7 million USD.) The rarity of the game led to it being highly sought after due to it's demand in the video game collection community.

The first well known footage of the game was in 2010, when a news report showed the game while describing its usage. For many years, this video was the only footage of the game publicly known. This game remained nearly impossible to find or prove it's existence until 2018.

In December 2018, a user by the name of "code1038" would write a blog post about the game. He claimed to have found a cartridge of the game but could not play the game due to a password protection. Additionally, the user code1038 uploaded the little game-play of the game that he could. This video became the only game-play of the game to be shown since 2010. He was urged to share the ROM file with others so that they may be able to find the password and play the rare game, but code1038 refused. For a time, this was the closest the general public had to accessing the game until June of 2020.

In June 2020, a seller by the title of "nanvata_0122" listed a copy of ECrew Development Program (included 2 McDonalds DS systems) with the password for 345,678 Yen (approximately $3300 USD.) It was purchased by Nick Robinson, who is an American YouTuber.

In August 30th, 2020, user code1038 uploaded a YouTube video of the games full playthrough, after acquiring the password by searching through the games coding. Shortly after, Nick Robinson and twitter user "Sczther" collaborated to upload the contents of ECrew Development Program to make the game accessible to the public. The playable game can be found here.
