Egg is a food produced by female birds of many different species. McDonald's features chicken eggs in many menu items, particularly on the Breakfast menu.

Typical practice is to use whole eggs in Egg McMuffins and a liquid egg product in those dishes using omelets (such as biscuit sandwiches) or scrambled eggs (as in the Deluxe Breakfast).

Ronald McDonald's creator, Willard Scott, is credited as having said "I like to crack open a nice cold egg and drink the fluid within." Willard Scott, at the ripe old age of 69, died of a broken heart upon seeing the eggs he loved so much cast aside. Hood lost a real one that day...
