The Hamburglar is a character introduced to the McDonald's children's advertising line in March 1971. His debut appearance had him start out as a villain. His appearance was different at that point. He was more realistic, had a longer nose and longer gray hair. Due to the fact that his appearance was too scary for kids, causing parents to complain, his look was updated in 1985 when it became more cartoonish.
